Kids age 5-12 participate in fun, engaging activities all presented in Spanish.
We are happy and proud to be partnering with the YMCA of Coastal Georgia this summer to offer Spanish Immersion Summer Camp in Richmond Hill and Pooler. Richmond Hill dates will be June 16-20 and July 14-18. (Pooler dates TBA)
Specialty Camp times are from 9-12, and all activities will be presented in Spanish, even snack, bathroom breaks, playtime, and lunch! After 12, you may choose to pick up your child or let them stay for a regular, English-only camp afternoon.

How much?
YMCA members pay $98/week, non-members pay $146. This price includes full-day childcare (if you need it-pre and post-camp care is also available)
In Richmond Hill camp will take place at First Baptist Church.
In Pooler camp will take place at West Chatham YMCA.

Not just for the newbies:
Does your child already speak Spanish? This camp is designed with your family in mind! Because we don’t focus on teaching basic Spanish, but simply present everyday, fun activities in Spanish, this camp is great for kids who are new to Spanish as well as kids who already understand. Your child will love using their language skills outside of the home and meeting new friends who relate and appreciate their culture!
Plus, we hand select only the best teachers who are skilled at individualizing based on a wide range of abilities and needs within one group of kids!

Ready to enroll? Please call the YMCA in Richmond Hill at 912-756-5856 to register!

What to expect:
Each week will provide students with a different theme, so plan on participating in one or all, because each week is unique and different!
June 16-20 will feature our popular “Princesses & Heroes” theme from last year. Girls who wish to will create princess accessories such as purses and tiara that will all come together to make up a stunning Princess ensemble for them to take home-complete with gown, tiara, and magic wand!
Boys will participate in Hero activities, including making swords and staging a mock ‘battle’ in which they will have to defend their ‘castle’ using swords, silly string, and water guns, just to name a few.

Every week of camp will feature our award-winning, patented language learning model. Teaching kids foreign language skills through immersion on a contextual basis, our process includes incorporating multi-sensory, engaging activities over a wide range of subject areas to present Spanish in a real-world, accessible way.

Each day, students will participate in a healthy balance of fun and learning, including hula hoop, water gun, and silly string contests, parachute and phrase of the day activities, play/snack/lunch time, arts and crafts, science experiments, reading & writing activities.
